Harrassment and VERY Disrespectful

I cannot believe how disrespectful the men who work for this company are... The Manager literally told me off over the phone when I was perfectly nice and diplomatic with him on the phone. They continue to call daily numerous times after I make arrangements with them, it just doesnt matter. They still call, and I got verbally assaulted AGAIN tonight from another employee calling my house?! I called them to settle the matter and set up a payment plan. Now, I do not trust to work with them. No professional company acts like this. I have the right to refuse them and will make a complaint with the BBB.

Not my account they are calling about

I have been recieving calls from RPM about a past due SPRINT bill that is not mine. I have the same name as the person they are looking for but that is it. They have called my work, cell and old home numbers looking for me even after i told them it wasn't me that they are looking for. They were very rude and demanded that i pay my debit. i have complained to SPRINT and to RPM. they need to make sure they have the correct person before they start demanding money!!!!! They need to stop finding people with the same name and blaming them for something that is not theirs.

ROM Debt Collection = RUDE

I kept getting a call from a number in Florida. I decided to call it back to see who it was, and it ended up being RPM Debt Collection. I have disputed quite a few things on my credit report and tried explaining that to the woman on the phone but she was very rude and kept screaming at me through the phone. If you send them a letter in writing, they are no longer allowed to call you, which is what I will be doing. If you are trying to get money from someone, it might be a good idea to be NICE about it.

RPM- RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL...SCAM..

I authorized a $20 payment via my debit card. RPM charged my account $25, they said the $5 was a transaction fee that they may/or may not have told me about. I also tried to move the date of another payment I was to make, I was assured by the agent I originally spoke with that is was "no problem". The agent I spoke with tonight said the payment was "set in stone" and couldn't be changed, THEN HUNG UP ON ME!! A complaint has been filed with the Ohio Attorney General and any/all future charges from the "company" will be blocked as soon as the bank opens in the morning. I'm sure Sprint will love hearing about this, since that is who RPM is supposedly representing.

1)Excessive phone calls. 2)3rd-party disclosures (messages left on a public answering machines or phone calls directly to your family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors).

3)The debt collector did not disclose who they were and that the call was from a debt collector. 4)The debt collector threatened legal action (threats of filing a lawsuit, taking you to court, garnishing your wages, or putting a lien on your property). 5) The debt collector calls you at work even though you told the debt collector to stop calling at work.

If you are having any of this happen to you give us a call at Guardian Credit Solutiond with what is happening with you, collection agency name, and your contact info and you can sue them for $1000 dollars, and pay no lawyer fees and have them STOP calling you and have it removed from your credit report!! Falsely accused me of owing almost $300 to T-mobile

RPM has been calling me monthly, now every 2 weeks, falsely accusing me of owing about $300 to T-mobile. They call me on my home number, which T-mobile would never use, and tell me NOT to call T-mobile to verify it & ask me why I would even call T-mobile to check. They are at the point of harassment. T-mobile has verified twice now that I do NOT owe ANY money to T-mobile. RPM tries to get personal info from me. the current person who is harassing me is Krysta Harris, telephone number 888-357-****.

Crooks, dishonest people. All the time are billing you incorrect and in their advantage.

If you find the error and you call back they start to apologize and give you a $20 "reward for inconvenience" .They are increasing the bill without no explanation. After you disconnect the service they still try to bill you .

After that they threaten you with a collecting agency. Never, ever, deal or do business with them and do not recommend this company to any friend

Recieved 7 calls since 8 am from this company about a bill which I know I paid off in 2008. I answer the call finally at about 2:30 PM PST and the unprofessional person on the other end is mumbling to the point I had to ask him to speak clearer as I could not hear or understand what he was attempting ot communicate.

The same young mindless fool on the other end then has the odassity to tell me "if you would get a job and pay your bill I wouldn't have to call you right now"... Extrememly rude, unprofessional,AND uncalled for! I ask to speak to Cody's supervisor he tells me without putting me on hold or anything "..that she does not have time for dealing with me/this right now", I then proceed to speak to her supervisor who I'm told is Phil, apperently he was not available either. Then without any notice or anything another gentleman gets on the phone to try and smooth things over(Thank you Matt), However he then tells me that our call is going to be recorded, but when I ask if my call with Cody was recorded he could not tell me that?!

The bill they are trying ot collect on was paid in 2008 and the dollar amount they are asking for does not even correlate to what my monthly payments were on that bill.

I have a bachelors in accounting and finance and workinfg on my Masters, if anyone knows about the importance of collections and cash flow I would be one of them. Needless to say I am so furious I will be contacting the VP of OPerations/CEO/Chief Recievable Analyst(Howard L George) via the Better Business Businees Bureau.

RPM Collections is a fraud

RPM collections calls and does not have any info on what you actually owe, because they are a fraud. All they get is a number and a name and try to say you owe them money.

Tell them to send you documentation. If they ask what your address is, tell them if you really owe them money they should have it! Do not give them any money! They might tell you they are calling about debt for your cellualr service Sprint or Verizon, but they really are just trying to scam you out of money.

They should try to collect by mail first.

Do not give them any information about yourself or your business. You will lose out!

I have been in contact with Chris Love from RPM regarding my debt from a vehicle that was repossessed from me during a time I lost my job. When the debt finally went to RPM I was fortunate to have a compassionate man like Chris on my account. During the beginning of 2009 I was taking care of my terminally ill mother and kept in contact with Chris during this process. I have not worked since August of 2009 and My Mother Passed Dec.6, 2009. I have paid $1500 of my debt. I indicated to Chris that I had an Inheritance, and that there was a process with paperwork. Chris and I spoke several times and the last conversation was that he would contact me the 8th of January as to the status of the final payment. I made a $1000.00 payment on 12/17/09 and just received a call from Chris on Sunday 1/3/2010. This is not his fault, however I do hold the agency responsible for this continued harrassment. Chris is only doing his job. I will speak with Chris again on Jan. 8, 2010 as agreed.

RPM debt collection calls

I have been called on my cell phone numerous times by this company over the past 3-4 weeks. They are calling for a "Marcos/Marcus" who lives/lived on South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo.

I do not know this person, nor do I have any relationship with this person. When I ask the company why they are calling, they simply say it's a "personal matter," and ask me if I am his wife. I have asked them why they are calling and what is the nature of their call, but the person gives no further information.

I have asked this company to stop calling this number and to remove my number from their list. It is very clear to me that they are simply calling his old number and that I have been given it since many old cell numbers are recycled. I have only had my number since October 2007.

The number they are calling from is 410-202-**** and possibly 866-471-****.

I have definitely been called the following times by someone who said her name was "Rita" from "RPM":

8:28 am, Jul 1, 08

7:37 pm, Jul 8, 08

7:17 pm, Jul 9, 08

There have been messages left for a "Marcos/Marcus" to call back an 866 number with the same following digits as the 410 number. Unfortunately I erased those messages.

I would like these calls to stop. I am tired of being harassed by the employees of this company who cannot take "do not call" for an answer.

I started getting calls from this company but I never answer my phone unless I'm expecting a call so I have no idea what they could possibly want. All my bills are up to date, in fact I frequently pay my credit cards twice a month to maintain a zero balance and all my utilities are up to date. I've never used Sprint and any past debts were released by a bankruptcy filed over 15 years ago.

Does these idiots just randomly dial numbers hoping for a hit?

I also get a call for a Mark or Marcos - once a day for the last several weeks - so according to the person working at RPM (3 times a week) they are abusing their "privilege". My name is not Mark, or Marcos - or anything staring with "M".

And kind of funny that another commenter has been called Marcus or Marcos? I won't answer the call.

I love *** with bill collectors, and I welcome their calls. Caller ID makes getting them a pleasure.

I found myself hopelessly in debt a few years ago, a result of the collapse of the housing industry. My first encounter with a debt collector was humiliating, because for the first time in my life, I couldn't pay my debts. I tried to reason with this young lad, but the more sincere and apologetic I sounded, the harsher his tone became. He responded with all of the standard requests/threats. I decided to end the call and cease all further talks with ANY debt collectors.

Since my home had been foreclosed upon I relocated to another part of the country, where I owned another home, this one free and clear. It was covered by the Homestead Act so I knew it couldn't be taken. Then I lay low for a couple of years, upon which time the calls began coming in from the collectors - calls I screened on my answering machine and otherwise ignored. Finally one of the collectors (henceforth to be referred to as the “Collector”), found my address and began sending me demand letters. I sent them a 50 dollar money order for 3 months - using that form of payment so that they couldn't find my banking info - and was noncompliant to their requests for me to fill out an information sheet. About a month later I was served with court papers. I knew I couldn't ignore these, so I decided it was time to contact a bankruptcy attorney. He immediately filed the bankruptcy - which put all collectors on hold pending resolution of the case - all collectors with the exception of the one who had served me with court papers. I decided to play a little game with them – make them spend a little more of their own money.

So they took me to court, little knowing I had already begun bankruptcy proceedings. I appeared in court on the day appointed, wearing my most humble attire, and told the judge I did not dispute the debt, but that I had sent them 3 payments and they still sued me. I didn't tell him I had filed for bankruptcy, because I wanted to string the Collector along as long as I could. He continued the case for 3 months and told us both to get together and come up with a solution. I ignored the Collector until the next court appearance, at which point I sprung the big surprise that I had filed for bankruptcy. The judge continued the case for 6 months.

And, to add icing on the cake for me, in spite of being blindsided by the bankruptcy, the Collector's wet behind the ears lady attorney still tried to have a conference with me in the hallway. I agreed to speak with her – mainly to satisfy my own curiosity. This pathetic excuse came running out into the lobby, thanked me for agreeing to talk with her, and began dialing her cell phone – one can only speculate that she was calling the Collector for instructions. I decided to end her pain and walked away.

The following month the bankruptcy went through and I told the Collector I hope he was enjoying his *** sandwich. All in all it was an enjoyable adventure for me.

I am here to collect debt, if you owe, you need to pay, the law is we can contact you 3 times per week, a contact is verbal exchange..

They use a super hightech dialer which calls about 2million calls a day through about 250 collectors, so alot of times they are in a rush to move on to the next call, so they dont remove your number..

-listen if you do not think you actually owe the debt.. please ask them to verify the last 4 of your social.. address, and from where the debt was from, if you believe you are a victim of identity theft calmy be assertive to the collector, file a police report, and a report to credit buerues fax the debt collection agency the police report.. I am a nice collector, i actually do help people settle their debt or pay in full, to get a recipt of payment call in with your verification number.. say you want it in mail and ask for them to send your recipt their client, if they are taking time remind them that you will complain to their client about thier performance, this will get them by the balls. trust me.

I recently bought a car and about a week after that i started receiving calls from"RPM" up to four times a day. I have counted five different numbers that were used.

Not one of the times did these people leave a message. I have a very small amount of debt and if these people were to call ONCE and leave a message i would have called back and tried to work something out to repay the debt. I work for Public Storage and make collection calls several timss a month. It is against the law to call someone two days in a row let alone four times a day to collect a debt.

I tried calling tmobile to get the numbers blocked but i have to pay for that! I want this to stop and it didnt start until after i bought my car less then a month ago and i have had the same amount of debt for awhile.

RPM is a scam, BE CAREFUL

RPM has been harassing me for a phone bill that I have already paid. I called my phone carrier twice and both times I was told that they had NEVER heard of RPM. The carrier also confirmed that my bill (which by the way was less than $30.00) had been paid in full and on time. Typically a collection agency makes a third of what they collect. This "so called" collection agency would make approximately $10.00 from my fantasy debt.

THEY JUST WANT MY CREDIT CARD Number!

I told several of their representatives that they were a scam and they might want to go online and find out what kind of company they are working for. I also called my local sheriff department and filed a complaint. DO Not give them any personal information, Especially your credit or debit card number.

well people complain about there bills in collections when it happend to me actually i paid my bill because first off i called sprint and they told me that sprint had acidentally put over 6000 people in collections for paid bills secondly i looked in to the company and it is by far a real company it wouldnt make sense how would a collection agency do a collection for sprint and they are one of the bigest wireless companys in the world and also how would they just get so many peoples info not only that i did reasearch in the long distance bills not only does attnt and embarqe and mci and many other phone companys use sprint for they're long distance also if you get a spint calling card sprint doesnt tell you after you put your credit card info in they charge a dollar a month to a sprint long distance account so reality is dont point fingers if you dont do your reasearch i care about my credit and know if im in collections for something and do my reasearch it is real so you better pay the bill.

Rpm collections

They were pretty nice as I told them the debt was past statue of limitations and could not be collected here in Ca.I was told that they would enter into record (whatever that means) I figure it is a refusal to pay on my part. This stems from PG&E trying to charge me for a month of service where I had stopped service and moved. The down side is they have called at 8:15 on the dot for the last 2 weeks, I have sent a cease and desist letter so hoping it works. each call the caller seems to be a little more agitated and pushy and does not want to hear my side, so I will not be answring anymore calls at 8:15 am

Defense Attorney is right in that the statute of limitations is not merely an "ordinance, if you will, to have a case dropped due to its age." If the SOL has run, the creditor's legally enforceable claim has lapsed. If he nevertheless pursues a default judgment, that judgment may not be entered by the court due to the SOL and, even if entered, can be dismissed because of the SOL.

Yes, anyone can sue, but not everyone can win and some are penalizedfor filing frivolous or malicious suits. I believe that many creditors will not file 1099-C, "Discharge of Debt," forms with the IRS because they get nothing from it and must nevertheless substantiate the amount of the debt if it is challenged.

Even if reported by the creditor, the debt cancellation income would be reduced by any deductions, exemptions and credits to which the taxpayer/debtor is entitled. Thus, the likely payment would be substantially less than the full amount of the debt.

Guest

Actually, the above comment is wrong as a matter of Ninth Circuit case law. Once a debt collector in this circuit has been notified that they are attempting to collect a debt past the statute of limitations they are doing so at their own peril.

They not only will not be able to enforce a default judgment but WILL be liable for a suit in tort for abuse of process and malicious prosecution. See e.g. McCollough v. Johnson, Rodenburg & Lauinger, LLC, 09-35767, 2011 WL 746892 (*th Cir.

Mar. 4, 2011) and those torts are in no way limited by the set penalty in the FDCPA.

Even a good faith mistake on their part will not save them; there are no good faith mistakes of law...only fact. A statute of limitations error is one of law.

Guest

In regards to previous comment, statute of limitations has nothing to do with collecting debt. It is only a ordinance if you will, to have a case dropped due to its age.

A creditor can sue you everyday. The first time you dont show up, you lose by default. A good collector will file a 1099c on you. ig you dont pay a debt you must report it as income.

failure to do so is against federal tax law.

See, you will pay. Its just a matter of who much and when; :cry

Another RPM disaster

i have experienced the same HORRIBLE service from RMP... I have been hung up on, yelled at put on hold FOREVER, and been told that they will overdraw my bank account to get their payment, and then they took out 2 payments in one month.. they do do not offer to provide alternate solutions. its insulting and embarassing to have to be treated this way! I know that they do not care, they are just there to play hard ball. RPM's "consultats" and "managers" do not take into account the past activity on the account and see that the account has been paid to satisfactory. they just want to collect their fees on top of fees! AWFUL customer service!

First thing anyone should do when they get a letter from a CA is to send a ceae and desist letter, no calls all transaction are to be by USPS. Then tell them you want a debt validation letter, this should have all your personal info a copy of the original contracrt signed by you, there regisrtation number as well as the state you live in reg number to prove they are allowed to conduct business in your state. DO NOT let these douchbags intimidate you

NEVER, EVER give your bank account information for automatic payments!

Every Consumer Rights Activist says not to. Offer to pay with a Money Order or Money Gram/Western Union. If they say they can only accept automatic deductions from your bank account, that's *** Tell them you don't have a bank account.

When I told them I had no checking or savings account, they still refused to accept the money order and harrassed me. But after standing my ground, they finally realised they had no choice but to accept a money order.

They just want direct access to your account to do exactly what they did to you, pull out more than authorized.
